Green-fingered pupils from a nearby school have helped to transform our gardens into a floral paradise.
St Peter’s Daisy Gardening Club was delighted to welcome the new recruits – pupils and teachers from Washwood Heath Academy – to the team in May 2019.
Groups of tenants and pupils worked hard to clear areas of weeds and prune small trees and shrubs ready for planting.
Lisa Baker, St Peter’s Housing Services Manager said: “The pupils were very hard working and were an absolute joy to work with. The tenants enjoyed the morning and we look forward to seeing them again.”
“We would also like to thank all our tenants who have worked so hard planting, deadheading and turning the grounds into a beautiful and welcoming oasis.
“Tenants who don’t usually garden have joined in and have planted a herb garden. Others are looking after the birds and hedgehogs and new shale has been laid by a resident in the sunken garden.”
“Everywhere you walk, flowers are in abundance. Thank you to you all.”
